Predators Fall to .500 After Loss to Ninjas
|
New York rode a good effort from starter Amilcar Laboro to beat the Topeka Predators at Confucius Field. The final score was 4-1. Reliever Natsuo Saito picked up the win. His record improves to 4-2. Sam Beauvais took the loss. Nobuatsu Fukumoto got credit for the save for New York. It was his 15th of the year.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning. Facing Topeka hurler Sam Beauvais, Derek Thompson, who is tied for 9th in the FFL in hits with 66, hit a double. The Ninjas went on to win.
"It was just a matter of executing," said New York manager Reda Guillon.
The Ninjas move to 34-28 with the win, while the Predators drop to 31-31.
