Hawks Beat Lights, 8-6
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Boise Hawks outlasted Kunio Suto and the Phoenix Lights, 8-6. Suto was impressive in the loss. The Phoenix left fielder was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Peter McColgan earned the win to go to 3-4. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Hou-kang Li earned the save, his 11th, for the Hawks.
In the top of the second, Boise left fielder Kurt Knight had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Knight stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Boise. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles.
"We got the victory," said Knight. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
Boise is now 23-39, while Phoenix is 37-25.
