Predators Fall Short at Rock River
Rock River withstood an impressive performance by Topeka third baseman Sergio León to defeat the Predators, 8-7, at The Rat Hole. León was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win was credited to Ramelan Kathirithamby in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Tony Freelove took the loss. Rock River is in first place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division with a record of 34-20.

Charlie Handford provided some late-game heroics for Rock River. In the bottom of the 11th inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 1-0 curveball from Tony Freelove and propelled Rock River to a 8-7 lead.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Handford said.
