Tight Tilt Goes to Cornhuskers, 3-2

DeKalb and San Antonio put this game in the books despite some rain.
The DeKalb Cornhuskers got a good effort from starter Sancho Ortega in defeating the San Antonio Storm Troopers at Earl Campbell Stadium. The final score was 3-2. DeKalb reliever Oda Matsumura picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Yoshida Kaneko absorbed the loss. Kevin Spurr recorded his 3rd save for DeKalb.
In the bottom of the 7th, designated hitter Ajyapa Vijayarangan gave DeKalb the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Cornhuskers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off San Antonio pitcher Yoshida Kaneko changed that -- and DeKalb went on to win.
San Antonio manager Ernie Goslin said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Their 26-31 record puts the Cornhuskers 6th in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
