Late Rally by Lights Secures Win
|
The Phoenix Lights did just enough to sneak past the Long Island Ducks, 5-4, at Long Island Stadium. Phoenix pitcher Thomas Kearton earned player of the game honors. Jian-cheng Wang, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Phoenix is now 35-22, Long Island 27-29.
Qu-bing Ci made it 5-4 in favor of Phoenix when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Lights went on to win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Phoenix manager Rod Allen. "It's usually not just one thing."
