Left-hander Jake Rhodes mesmerized the Cincinnati Snaps while leading the Sandy Springs Spartans to a 3-0 victory. In 7.1 innings, Rhodes surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Julián Salazar picked up the save for Sandy Springs, his 12th of the year.
One of the key players for the Spartans was right fielder Keith Lyon, who drilled a 2-run triple in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Lyon went 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Rhodes told the Sandy Springs Gazette.
The last-place Spartans now have a win-loss record of 20-32.
