The Madison Beehive picked up a win at The Hive, knocking off the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 4-1. On the mound for Madison was right-hander Carlos Duarte, who played a pivotal role in the win. Duarte, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Tom Wilson recorded the save for Madison, his 11th of the season.
Madison took the lead in the bottom of the second on a big hit from Edmund Bowes. On a 2-2 forkball from Noritoshi Hayashi, Bowes hit a 3-run home run. That made it 3-0, Beehive. For the day, Bowes was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I like what I saw today," said Madison manager Brian Moore, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Storm Troopers, now 24-26, have lost 4 straight.
