Big Day for Neri as Wolverines Down Bulldogs, 7-3
|
The Wichita Wolverines defeated the Spokane Bulldogs, 7-3, in Ford Frick League action at The Kennel, with Wichita shortstop Maurizio Neri named player of the game. At 25-24, the Wolverines find themselves in third place in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Neri hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Wolverines into the lead, 3-1.
"Good win for us," said Neri. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
