Wolverines Pull Back to Even with 9-7 Victory
|
Wichita withstood an impressive performance by San Antonio designated hitter Jon Massey to defeat the Storm Troopers, 9-7, at Howling Park. Massey was 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With the victory, the Wolverines record now stands at 24-24.
In the bottom of the second, Lester Cracknell hit a 2-run triple for Wichita. The 2nd triple of the season for the Wichita center fielder put the Wolverines on top, 4-3.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Clyde Bowman.
