The Wichita Wolverines beat the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 14-2, at Howling Park. Wichita catcher Domingo Cruz earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times. Nicholas Norman, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 3 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Earning his 2nd save for Wichita was Edison Dickie.

It could have been a different outcome for Wichita, had it not been for Victor Krajancic, the 22-year old right fielder . Krajancic contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the second inning to put Wichita up, 2-0.
