Phoenix second baseman Luis Chávez was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the Spokane Bulldogs. Chávez, the 25 overall pick in the 2025 draft, went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lights. The Lights, at 31-17, sit in first place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.

Norishige Iwamoto was one of the major contributors to the win for Phoenix. The light-hitting shortstop stroked a home run to left-center in the bottom of the second inning. For the day, he was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Iwamoto.
