The Spokane Bulldogs scored a 7-6 win versus the Phoenix Lights at UFO Field. Spokane pitcher Masazumi Ohayashi nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Ohayashi went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-0. Keith Westaway finished the game for Spokane and earned his 2nd save.

José Pérez was a key contributor to the win for the Bulldogs. In the top of the sixth with one out, the light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to center. He went 1 for 4.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Pérez told the Spokane Daily. "You win just by scoring more runs."

Spokane goes to 30-17, Phoenix to 30-17.
