Wolverines Get One-Run Win at Madison
The Wichita Wolverines did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Madison Beehive at The Hive. Nobody did more than pitcher Michinaga Sato, who captured player of the game honors. Their 22-23 record puts the Wolverines 5th in the Ford Frick League Junction Jack Division.

Had Hidemichi Kojima not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Kojima hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Wolverines.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Kojima told the Wichita News.
