Ducks Get One-Run Win at Topeka
|
Long Island starter Greg O'Dell pitched effectively against the Topeka Predators at The Field at Richmond. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Carl Tyler picked up the save, his 11th. The Ducks now have a record of 24-20.
Enrique Rivera's at-bat in the top of the second inning was a big one for Long Island. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd and Long Island leading 3-0, the center fielder hit a sacrifice fly.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said O'Dell. "Successful pitchers do it."
