Crawford Swings for the Cycle
|
It was a special day for Scott Crawford at The Coliseum today. Not only did Crawford's Madison Beehive beat the Sandy Springs Spartans 8-5, but the first baseman hit for the cycle along the way.
The 22-year-old Crawford racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and 4 runs scored.
"He hit everything we threw," said Spartans manager Duncan Kelly. "There was just no getting him out today."
Speaking to the press after the game, Crawford said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs."
"I got some good looks today," he said.
Scott Crawford doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Javier Peña in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
This year Crawford is batting .245 with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs.
