Predators Cut Down Mustang, 3-2
|
The Predators took Carson City pitcher Kaong Foong's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cowboys Stadium. The final score was 3-2, Topeka. Foong went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 7. Topeka starter Sam Beauvais was credited with the win after throwing 86 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. The Predators, at 24-18, lead by one game in their division.
Toby Hone went 2-3 with 2 singles for Topeka. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth, Hone had a clutch at-bat. Facing Carson City hurler Hervé Muller, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Predators a 3-2 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Topeka manager Armando Ortíz.
