The New York Ninjas scored a 4-3 win versus the San Antonio Storm Troopers at Confucius Field. New York pitcher Koichi Takahashi nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. New York reliever Natsuo Saito was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Kenkichi Akiyama took the loss. Nobuatsu Fukumoto earned the save for New York, his 10th of the year.

Ron Clarke came through for New York when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 0-1 curveball to center field, staking his team to a 4-3 lead.

Takahashi told the New York Daily News: "I was born for the big stage."

The San Antonio losing streak has now reached 4 games.
