|
The Lights grabbed a win, 6-5, at UFO Field, overcoming a fine effort from Wichita pitcher Dennis Gregory. Gregory went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Phoenix reliever Fahad Munir, now 2-0. The loser was Ichiro Hashimoto. Phoenix has now won 4 games in a row.
The Phoenix win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Sung-joon Kim. In the bottom of the seventh, the Phoenix left fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 6-4 lead.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Kim. "But I like how we're playing right now."
