Chávez Leads Lights to Win
Benefiting from the performance of Luis Chávez, the Phoenix Lights defeated the Madison Beehive, 12-7. Chávez went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Lights. Phoenix reliever Vic Pilgrim picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Tom Wilson was saddled with the loss. Phoenix now sits at 24-15, while Madison falls to 19-20.

Juan Villa had the most critical at-bat for Phoenix. With one in the top of the ninth inning, Villa hit a 1-2 fastball from Tom Wilson for a run-scoring single. It put Phoenix in front, 8-7.

"It was a solid team effort," said Villa after the game.
