Wolverines Defeat Ninjas, 7-4
|
The Wichita Wolverines picked up a win at Howling Park, knocking off the New York Ninjas, 7-4. Starting pitcher Shigeki Sasaki played a key role in the triumph. The Wolverines are now 21-18, while the Ninjas fall to 19-20.
Phil Adriaens took Amilcar Laboro deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Wolverines in front, 2-0. For the game, Adriaens was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Sasaki said.
