Multi-HR Day for Kaneko as Codebreakers Overpower Hornets, 8-4
|
The first-place Columbus Codebreakers welcomed Eureka to Labatt Bleue Park.
Columbus center fielder Nobuatsu Kaneko had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 8-4 win over the Eureka Hornets. Gabresilassie Cherono got the win, improving to 1-2. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2.
Kaneko had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the second for the Codebreakers. Coming up with the bases loaded and Columbus trailing 2-1, he hit a grand slam.
"Nobuatsu is still learning," said Columbus Codebreakers manager Julián Cancil. "The sky's the limit for him."
The first-place Codebreakers have a one-game lead in their division.
