Despite a fine performance by second baseman Ichizo Hamada, the Rock River Rats suffered a 11-8 loss to the Spokane Bulldogs. Hamada went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ashley Heath was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Yoshiki Sato was credited with the save for Spokane, his 8th of the season.

José Palma played a key role in the win. The Spokane left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, Palma was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Palma told the Spokane Daily.

With the win over Rock River, the Bulldogs improved to 24-15.
