The Phoenix Lights defeated the New York Ninjas, 6-3, at Confucius Field. Phoenix first baseman Qu-bing Ci was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Seong-rae An, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-3. The Lights saw their record improve to 21-14.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the third inning, when the Lights were trailing 1-0. Jason Trude delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Phoenix, catapulting his team into the lead.
Ci attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
