The DeKalb Cornhuskers defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 8-6, at The Coliseum. DeKalb right fielder Zheng-ze Joe was named player of the game for his superb performance. He belted 3 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 4. The win was credited to Marc Norton in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Callum Okel took the loss. The save was credited to John Patterson, his 6th.
Sean Clark struck a blow for the Cornhuskers in the top of the fifth when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 7-5. For the game, Clark was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Clark told a DeKalb Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Spartans, at 8-23, have stumbled out of the gate.
