|
Starting pitcher Shan-bo Kung pitched well enough to help the Rock River Rats beat the Wichita Wolverines by the score of 4-3. The winning pitcher was Kung, now 5-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. The win brings the Rats to 21-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Also having an impact was left fielder Takejiro Nakamura, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the third for Rock River. For the game, Nakamura went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.
"It was a solid team effort," said Nakamura after the game.
