Sasquatch Topple Blazers as Murphy Shines
|
The Seattle Sasquatch defeated the Bloomington Blazers, 6-2, in Roberto Clemente League action at Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park. Baden Murphy received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Jun Nakayama earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 8.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. Greg Ward was credited with the save for Seattle, his 3rd of the season.
Murphy had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the first, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Sasquatch went on to win.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Murphy said after the game.
The 6th-place Sasquatch now have a win-loss record of 15-22.
