The Predators had to overcome a fine performance from Wichita pitcher Shigeki Sasaki to grab a 6-1 win at The Field at Richmond. Sasaki allowed 2 earned runs over 6.1 innings. The win gives Topeka a record of 16-13.
Flexing his muscles for Topeka was Del Miller. The first baseman had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Predators. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Miller was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Miller said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
