Victory Over Spartans Takes Spokane to 19-10
|
The Spokane Bulldogs racked up a win at The Kennel, bumping off the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-1. Hisato Okubo, who started for Spokane, pitched effectively for his team. In 6.1 innings, Okubo surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Pedro Montoya, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
The Spokane dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Bulldogs put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
The Bulldogs, now 19-10, have been on a roll in the early going.
