Lights Get One-Run Win at Boise
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Phoenix Lights eventually prevailed at Basque Block Field.
The Lights grabbed a win, 7-6, at Basque Block Field, overcoming a fine effort from Boise pitcher Felipe Sánchez. Sánchez went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Thomas Kearton, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held Boise to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Grégoire Maillet earned the save for Phoenix, his 6th of the year.
Phoenix pinch hitter Kunio Suto gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded and the Lights leading 4-3, Suto hit a bases-clearing double.
"We found a way to get it done," Suto said.
The Hawks fall to 10-13 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.
