Bishop Stars for Jesters in 7-3 Win
Jersey second baseman Alan Bishop was instrumental in his team's 7-3 win over the Chicago Hitmen. Bishop, who is on pace to hit 50 home runs this season, went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Jesters. The winner was Tony Velázquez, who threw 100 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. Kenko Samurakami picked up the save, his 2nd.

Akio Ishii played a key role in the win for the Jesters. The right fielder punched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Ishii went 1-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Bishop said. "That's how it goes."

The second-place Jesters raised their record to 21-15.
