Amilcar Laboro pitched a good game, but his team, the New York Ninjas, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Coliseum. Jake Rhodes picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-2. Julián Salazar closed it out for his 3rd save.
Yeong-il Kim took Amilcar Laboro deep with two out in the bottom of the third. On a first pitch fastball, Kim drilled a 2-run home run to center. It was his 5th home run of the season and put Sandy Springs on top, 3-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Kim said after the game.
The Spartans, with just their 5th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
