Thrilling Victory Pushes Bulldogs Win Streak to 6
|
The Spokane Bulldogs beat the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 5-3, at The Kennel. The Bulldogs got a fine performance from left fielder Sergio Carbajal, who captured player of the game honors. He belted 2 home runs. Yoshiki Sato, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. The Bulldogs, now 10-3, have been on fire in the early going.
Jorge Hernández found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing San Antonio hurler Cody Ladd, the 21-year-old third baseman hit a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season put the Bulldogs on top, 4-3.
Hernández attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
