Carbajal Leads Bulldogs to Win
|
The Spokane Bulldogs trumped the Wichita Wolverines, 7-1, at Howling Park. Spokane left fielder Sergio Carbajal was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Ashley Heath got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Wolverines to 1 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 11 and walking 1. The Bulldogs have hit the ground running, raising their record to 7-3. While it's still too soon to talk about Spokane hoisting their 1st Double A World Series trophy, fans are getting excited about their strong start.
Making an impact for Spokane was right fielder Pedro Renterías. He drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, Renterías was 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"It's good to win," Carbajal told the Spokane Daily. "I like to have fun doing it."
