Madison played host to Boise at the friendly confines of The Hive.
Boise catcher Carlos Vásquez was sensational. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Madison beat the Hawks, 11-7. Vásquez was named the player of the game despite the loss. Madison reliever Carlos Alejándrez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jorge Escobar was saddled with the loss.
Madison took a 9-7 lead on Michael Jenkins's 9th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Jenkins hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boise pitcher Ryunosuke Takahashi shaking his head.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Jenkins.
The win takes Madison to 4-4.
