Lights Fall to Bulldogs, 4-3
|
The Spokane Bulldogs and Phoenix Lights completed their game despite the rain.
In a close game at The Kennel, the Spokane Bulldogs edged the Phoenix Lights, 4-3. Spokane right fielder Pedro Renterías earned the nod as player of the game. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Spokane reliever Jin-yu Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Paul Cochran shouldered the loss. Yoshiki Sato picked up the save, his 2nd.
With Spokane trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Renterías hit a fastball from Paul Cochran for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Bulldogs ahead, 2-1.
Renterías attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
The win leaves Spokane with a record of 5-3.
