The Phoenix Lights turned back the Spokane Bulldogs, 9-8, at The Kennel. Orlando González was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Getting the save was Grégoire Maillet, his 2nd. The win takes Phoenix to 4-3.

Guillermo Sáenz produced a go-ahead double for Phoenix in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sáenz hit a 2-run double off Pedro Montoya. It put the Lights in front, 6-4.

"What a game," said González. "We needed every last run."
