Ninjas Fall Short at DeKalb
New York got a terrific game from first baseman Hiroya Shimada. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to DeKalb, 5-4. Shimada was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. With the win, DeKalb boosts its record to 4-4.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when DeKalb second baseman Carlos Souza, facing Natsuo Saito, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Cornhuskers the 5-4 win.

In postgame comments, Souza said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
