A 4-RBI performance from shortstop Matsudaira Shimada, who was drafted in the two round of the 2027 draft, led the Carson City Mustang to a 7-6 win over the Rock River Rats. Julien Caron picked up the save for Carson City, his 2nd of the year. With the win, Carson City improves its record to 3-3.

Shimada brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the second, when the 20-year old shortstop ripped a grand slam home run. The round-tripper put Carson City ahead, 4-0.

Shimada called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
