Walk-Off Seals 97th Victory for Beetlecats
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats wiggled past the West Coast Defenders, 4-3, at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay pitcher Arata Shimizu earned player of the game honors. Buzzard's Bay reliever Hidekazu Komatsu got the win, raising his record to 7-9. Gilberto Pérez was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Buzzard's Bay at 97-58, while West Coast falls to 69-86.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth, Roy Mills delivered the knockout blow when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to win it for Buzzard's Bay. In the contest, Mills drew 1 walk.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Roberto Núńez.
