A 6-RBI performance from the 25-year old first baseman António Medina helped the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Silicon Valley Hackers, 12-8. Buzzard's Bay starter Jorge Rodríguez was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 12-8. The save was credited to Hidekazu Komatsu, his 37th.

Medina contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Buzzard's Bay in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Medina took a cutter from Bobby Smith and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Beetlecats to leap in front, 4-2.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Medina.

The Beetlecats saw their win-loss record go to 94-57. At the same time, the Hackers fell to 80-71.
