Temple starter Shunsen Matsumoto put a stranglehold on the Wisconsin Dells offense. The left-hander had complete command of his splitter in leading the Goers to a 2-1 win. Matsumoto, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 4 walks. Gregg Lidstone got credit for the save for Temple. It was his 2nd of the year.

Ryan Lewry was a prime factor in the win for the Goers. In the bottom of the sixth with no one out, the 21-year old second baseman hit a 2-run single. He went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Lewry.

Temple, at 64-80, occupies 5th place in the Alexander Cartwright League Pirate Parrot League.
