The Newark Jail Birds downed the Atlantic City Enforcers, 6-1, at Cobras Ballpark. Albert Ramos led the way, going 3-for-4 for Newark. Steve Burton got credit for the save for Newark. It was his 1st of the year. Even with the win, the Jail Birds have a dismal 37-110 record.

Enrique Ales brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the second. That's when the 22-year old center fielder belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Jail Birds took the lead, 3-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Newark Jail Birds manager António Gómez.
