Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Killeen Black Knights got the win.
The Black Knights had to overcome a fine performance from Buzzard's Bay pitcher Sergio Marino to grab a 4-3 win at The Bird Stadium. Marino allowed no earned runs over 5 innings. Dong-young Pak was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Jim Unknown earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jacob Breedveld had a big run-scoring single off Tony Maloney. With the single, the Killeen pinch hitter put his team in front, 4-3. He went 1 for 1 in the contest.
After the game, Killeen manager Chase Burke applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Black Knights raised their record to 41-100.
