Trojans Mow Down Jail Birds, 12-4
|
The Sioux Falls Trojans picked up a win at Cobras Ballpark, knocking off the Newark Jail Birds, 12-4. Starting pitcher Alain Picard played a key role in the triumph. With the victory, the Trojans record now stands at 72-71.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Kenko Yoshimura drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Trojans went on to win.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Sioux Falls skipper Barry Miller. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
