Jacksonville Hellcats starter Josh Richard turned in a sterling performance against the West Coast Defenders, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Jacksonville reliever Mai Suharto picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Jiro Watanabe was saddled with the loss. The Jacksonville winning streak has now reached 4 games.
Ze-dong Xun had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Hellcats. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Jacksonville trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Jacksonville manager Pete Dellow.
