|
Jacksonville starter Kane Wright pitched effectively against the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Noriaki Ine picked up the save for Jacksonville, his 5th of the year. The current losing streak for Silicon Valley has reached 5 games.
Had Yoshinaka Nishimura not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Nishimura hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Hellcats.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Wright said.
