The West Coast Defenders electrified North Shore Park with a thrilling, walk-off win.

Françisco Gazo was instrumental in his team's 12-11 triumph over the Lake of the Isles Wolves. The center fielder went 1-2 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the West Coast Defenders. West Coast reliever Pedro Sánchez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Alex Luscombe.

The Defenders were down to their final out when designated hitter Raúl Cortéz turned a 2-2 fastball from Alex Luscombe into a bases-clearing double. The walk-off double made the North Shore Park crowd go wild.

Lake of the Isles manager Brad Johnson said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."

The Defenders are now 62-75, while the Wolves fall to 65-72.
