Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Goers
|
Temple overcame a superlative game from Julian Fanner to beat Riverside, 5-2. The Riverside pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 1-hit ball. Temple reliever Koshiro Ohayashi picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Allen Blair took the loss. With the victory, the Goers record now stands at 57-67.
Runs were at a premium. So, Brandon Harrison's at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Temple designated hitter hit a 3-run home run, to give his team a 5-2 lead.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Harrison told the Temple News.
