South Carolina got a terrific performance from center fielder Kiyonobu Yamasaki, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bloomington Blazers. Bloomington won the Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park contest, 11-7. Yamasaki was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times. The winner was Ron Robinson, who threw 135 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 11 hits. The Blazers' win now puts them at 15-20.

Also having an impact was center fielder Wayne Dougherty, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth for Bloomington. For the game, Dougherty was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We got the victory," said Dougherty. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
