Taniguchi goes 3-for-4, Ducks Move to 80-43
|
Motoyuki Taniguchi made an impact in the 7-4 Wisconsin Dells win over Lake of the Isles. Taniguchi, who is tied for 6th in the ACL with a .441 on-base percentage, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Anenas Kunwarjit, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Wolves to 4 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Tim Stady Jr. sewed up the save, his 24th.
Siquinala, Guatemala-born Cipriano Rojas came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st and the Ducks trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run home run to left to put Wisconsin Dells on top.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Wisconsin Dells manager Bobby Edwards.
The second-place Ducks lifted their record to 80-43.
